Mount
Laurel is the home of
several large businesses which includes: OkiData, NFL Films and PHH
Mortgage (formerly Cendant Mortgage). With a close proximity to the
NJ Turnpike and Route 295, living in Mt. Laurel makes an easy commute to
New York and Philadelphia as well as to the Atlantic City Casinos and the
NJ Shore.
Mt. Laurel is about 22 square miles. What started out as a bunch of
farms is now bursting with quite a diverse selection of housing choices.
The town is trying to preserve some of its feeling of openness by buying
some large areas of land and committing them to outdoor recreation the
whole town can enjoy.
This town is known for its good school systems and excellent sports
programs. Burlington County College has a large campus right on Rt.
38 and offers a full range of classes and degree programs.
There are many recreational facilities which attract people of all ages.
Laurel Acres is in the heart of this town and offers: soccer and
baseball fields, a dog run, walking path, playgrounds, fishing, and
festivals & concerts in the warmer months. In Mt. Laurel you will
also find 2 swim clubs, a golf course, an ice skating rink, PAWS Farm and
Nature Center and lots of other fun activities.
The Southern New Jersey area is known for its shopping malls. Mt.
Laurel boasts several outdoor shopping areas where you can shop for
virtually anything you need. Some of the stores you will find here
are: Target, Wegmans, Jo-Ann Fabrics, Costco, Best Buy, Old Navy,
Ross, Dick's Sporting Goods, DSW Shoes, Ann Taylor Loft, Borders Books and
many more.
